Traits
Sexual Dimorphism
Males and females are sexually dimorphic both physically and in color.
Physical
Male scalation is more pronounced and jagged looking, and they have a more prominent nuchal and vertebral crest. These crests can be raised and lowered in both sexes, with the females being mostly non-visible except for when used in communication. Males also have a more prominent throat fan that is reddish orange in color, while with females it is crème to yellowish.

Base Color
There is variability in color in individuals of both sexes however most males are a shade of green, ranging from a grass green to a blueish turquoise green, with alternating bands of shades of brown throughout the body. The tail is banded alternating light and dark. Both sexes have the ability of changing their color to highlight or darken, with extremes in males turning very dark to black during breeding attempts or territorial displays.
Females however are typically shades of grey or tannish brown with hints of green but more of a light mint green than the green that males display. The variation in their body color and tail banding are typically more muted to blend to almost unicolor unless they are “fired” up. They too can range from dark to light much like males. They tend to have a more “bark like” or "lichen like" appearance than the males do, however they both blend into branches quite well to the point that you can be staring right at them and not see them when they remain motionless. With extreme cases in females, the mint green can carry throughout the entire body.
Flash Colors
Both sexes have areas of “flash” colors that change color, as well as their base body colors can change. The “flash” areas are the upper lip, like a mustache, a saddle across the body, a spot at the base of the neck, a spot behind the eye, and a bridge connecting the eyes across the snout. In males these areas are displayed more prominently being commonly white but also can be yellow or a light blue. However, they can also be muted to shades of brown to blend in with the rest of the body. In females, the “flash” color areas can vary from light gray to the mint green previously mentioned. I have a few females that are constantly green bodied that the flash color is a fluorescent green in comparison.
